The first time I spotted the Blueberry ring was probably over a year ago while browsing through the Clay Pots site. I immediate loved it for it's simplicity, elegances and delicate execution. I was also surprised at the affordably of the set . Carla Caruso has sculpted a beautiful set of rings that twist and interlock. The Willow rings are a lovely streamed lines version of it the same organic idea.

ROUGH AROUND THE EDGES & IRREGULAR SHAPES

Sarah Perlis jewelry is a mix of delicately made bands and rough cut precious gems. She manages to make her jewelry romantic, soft and sincere with her use of color and technique. Her style brings to mind the pastel shades of impressionist painting, such as the work of Renoir, Monet or Casatt.

Perlis works with a variety of stones to complement her designs - diamonds, turmaline, sapphire just to name a few. She also takes a successful risk working with irregularly shaped gems.

Rose Cut Round Diamond Ring 1mm to 4mm Diamond available for $275.00-$560.00

Triangular Rose Cut Diamond Ring for $650.00

Her simple solitaire rose cut diamond ring is lovely. A simple bezel style setting with a hammered band. There is a variation of the ring with a triangle rose cut diamond for something a little different. It's the first time I think I've seen a triangle rose cut diamond in a ring, and it's refreshing.

Light Blue Sapphire with side rose cut diamonds price varies with type of gold used.
Diamond and Pale Green Sapphire Ring, Emerald Marquis Ring and Pink Sapphire Ring prices are unavailable at this time.

Three Rose Cut Round Diamond Ring available for $1,500.00

Champagne diamond ring available for $920.00

Round Brilliant Diamond with side Rose Cut Diamonds price unavailable at this time.

If you're looking for something with more stones, she has a number of 3 stone rings. One that caught my attention in particular is the diamond & green sapphire ring. The pale pastel green sapphires are a really nice touch. The use of the green makes the white of the diamond pop. It would be interesting to see a variation of this ring in particular with a pale fuschia sapphire as the center stone instead of a diamond. The mix of this green and fuschia should look extraordinary together. And for those diamond lovers, she also has a few styles of 3 stone diamond rings.

Unusual fangs, sweet tiny diamonds and braille?

Not everyone has the same ideals and sentiment when it comes to what they're looking for in an engagement ring or wedding band. Some girls don’t need that ultimate princess ring by Tacori.

The Bittersweetsny jewelry studio is defiantly on a different wave length. A small studio based in Brooklyn, New York. Their name "Bittersweets" really does say it all. Their pieces are simple and have a wit and humor to them that is all their own.

The Vampress Engagement Ring $1,800.00

The "bitter" in Bittersweets would be The Vampress Engagement Ring, I don't know how many people out there want a vampire engagement ring but there has to be someone - and Bittersweetsny has it. They list that they're willing to use other gemstones and personally I’d love to see a black diamond, deep red garnet or a red tourmaline.

Teency Ring Letter Ring With Diamond $225.00

The "sweet" in Bittersweet, is the Teency Ring and the Letter Ring with a diamond. Petite diamond rings that are just precious and say a lot in something so small. There are different metals to choose from for both rings and I personally like the rose gold as it has warmth to it. The Teency ring has many different possibilities for the diamond colors. Take a look at the green or blue diamond with either yellow or rose gold. For the Letter Ring with a diamond they will print "four letters or numbers and rose. "

It would be really cool if a trend would start based on who has the cutest/tiniest stone in an engagement ring as a backlash to the pervious ideas of saving 3 month of a salary, which is just a marketing scheme started by Debeers started in the 40 and 50’s . Also in these troubled economic times its just irresponsible to spend 10k on a ring if you really don’t have it.

Tri-colored band $175.00, New Monogram ring $125.00, letter rings $ 75.00, Big Boy Letter Ring $165.00

If you were to go with the Teency Ring or Letter Ring with a diamond, I’d recommend as a wedding band their tri-colored thin band that can be lettered. The monogram ring which I really like the lettering style, the letter ring or big boy ring. There are a range of possibilities for letters and symbols on all of these and it gives you the opportunity to really make it special and one of a kind. You also might consider getting the wedding band in a different metal. It can look really nice having the different metals next to each other. I personally wear a pale yellow gold and sliver ring together and it looks great.

Love is blind ring $800.00- $1,800.00

The Love is Blind ring it cute and witty. A wedding ring with a message that can be read as long as you have feeling in your fingers. Bittersweetsny produces this ring with or with out diamonds in gold or silver.

Bittersweetsny also does custom work so if you have an idea you should go and talk to them. Here are a few of their custom pieces.

Yellow Tulips Mean Perfect Hopeless Love

There's an old Persian love story about Hüsrev and Shirin. This story can be linked to the origins of the romantic symbolism of the tulip. Within this story Hüsrev sends, Ferhad a rival for Shirin away to trouble him no more. One version of this story says Ferhad - broken hearted - traveled out in to the dessert wilderness to die, for he had no reason to live without his beloved. As he began to feel his heart breaking from the sadness of loosing her, he started to cry. As he cried his tears fell to the ground and grew into tulips. From this story tulips have become a sign of ones devotion to there beloved.

Yellow tulips in particular are a sign of being truly, madly and hopelessly in love. So what could be more perfect then a yellow gold tulip wedding band as a sign of your devotion.

Adel Chefridi's Mediterranean Modern Classics

I discoverd Adel Chefridi 4-5 years ago, while wandering through the Union Square Holiday Market (November 22 through December 28, 2008) in New York City. I instantly fell in love with his work. I’m usually not a fan of gold but the shade of pale gold and the finish combined with the use of alternatives to diamonds like morganite, rubellite, tourmaline , iolite and sapphires has helped change my mind. His ring carries the allure of an ancient Mediterranean beauty of a royal court.

Tourmaline and Diamond Ring priced at 1200$
The main stone just screams I love you with its brilliant red.The accent diamond are set delicately in a narrow band. Also according to the site you can also get
green tourmaline as well. One could do a combination with one of the thin bands he make with small diamonds as a wedding ring.

Rubellite (pink to red Tourmaline) and ruby accents. 18k yellow gold with a satin finish. Priced at 2500$. This is a really stellar combo of gold and pink. The band has a bit of thickness to it that is well used with the addition of the accent stones.

Morganite faceted 10mm by 12mm. 18k yellow gold. pave diamonds on the band. Priced at 1500$.
I've seen a few rings with a Morganite. The center stone in this particular ring is very pretty. A nice alternative to a pink diamond.

The bride to be should also check out his other pieces to finish her bridal look on that special day.
